50KVAR Contactor is used to switch a Capacitor for power factor correction. Capacitors draws high inrush current when getting energized. Capacitor switching contactor is equipped with a resistor to limit the inrush current. High inrush can damage the contactor contacts or cause disturbance in an electrical network.
